Spiralling
Do you ever get to a point where you wish it could stop? Where everything around you could stand still for a minute so you can get your bearings. Where there is a calm and serenity that reminds you that you're still human.
These past weeks have been so hectic and troublesome. Work is stressful and I find myself wishing I were doing something else. Then I'm reminded that a year has gone by and I've lost Kacie and Fernando and someone else. I can't seem to wrap my head around everything and I'm sad and frustrated. I've begun to take it out on other people and it's not fair. I'm sniping at family and friends and pushing people away because I can't think straight.
I'm hoping that a week away, with my parents will help me relax and find some peace (or piece, depending on how you look at it) of mind. I need to be able to look at myself and say it's okay, you're okay, and it will only get better.
Wish me luck. Namaste!

Magnificent skyline
Out of my reach
But always
In my eyeline
Now we're tumbling down
We're spiralling
Tied up to the ground
We're spiralling

Climbing up the topsails
This weekend was fantastic. It started with a massage and dinner on Friday with Julie. I've not had a massage since my 25th birthday. I thought for sure I wouldn't be able to relax but alas, after 10 minutes I was on cloud 9. Needless to say I'll be going back.
Saturday, the girls and I celebrated St. Patrick's Day a bit early at Portside and Claddagh's in Canton. Sunday, Alyson and I went to the Wizards/Kings game at the Verizon center with my co-workers.....Enjoy the pictures.

Rockin' the Red
My girlfriends and I had a great time the other night, participating in an event held by the Capitals, called Hockey n' Heels. Hockey n' Heels events are meant to get women more interested in the sport, not that some of us need that. The beginning part of the event involves watching a practice session with the team, locker room walk-throughs, and puck skills with members of the team. While I couldn't attend the practice sessions with the girls or knock a few pucks around, I did manage to get dolled up and hit Front Page in Ballston to enjoy happy hour.
