Joy Ride

Happy Holidays people!

Oh goodness, the holiday is almost over. It was a good one! I hope everyone else's was as nice. To recap....
Christmas Eve is traditionally a day where Aly, Meggy, and I spend it with Kathy McGuire, however Kathy was in Oklahoma attending to her father so for the first time in 15 or more years the girls had to fly solo for Christmas Eve. While it was sad to not celebrate the day with our "Aunt" Kathy we took her advice and did something together as the girls. After lunch we came home and got ready for mass. We always go to the 7:30 mass then to Patti Dilustro and Adrienne's house for drinks and cookies and to exchange presents. Ms. D and A are part of the extended family network so we have deemed it okay to open gifts before x-mas. Then...Megan got it into her head that we girls should sleep in her room (if you've seen Megan's room it isn't really that spacious...To be nice) so we were up til 2ish. Her royal pain in the ass (Megan) couldn't sleep so she woke us at 7 am. Yes 7. Present unwrapping was great....My parents have learned to stop stressing and gave us money...I also got a digital camera which you'll read why I haven't uploaded pictures yet so hold your horses....aly and Megan got me a great robe and a gift card to Nordstrom (already spent of course). The best is we sent Aly on a scavenger hunt for her gift (twisted sick pleasure was had by Megan and I). The rest of x-mas was spent sleeping and eating! Monday we went to Ashland to see Mammam and the rest has been sleeping and shopping.

So the computer....There has been an endless saga. In April my computer's battery died and the CD rom drive would randomly stick and not read a disc.....Sent it to Best Buy where I have a warranty. It was to be taken care for for free...Get the computer back three weeks later....A note attached saying the battery didn't work...DUH. So I called and they sent a battery. Well all was good (even though the drive still wasn't 100%). Then Oct 9th (I remember the date) the computer crashed and I needed a whole new hard drive. So Best Buy fixed it and I got the computer back a couple of days before Thanksgiving...Well I sent it right back because when I tried to load my wireless internet the PC card slot wouldn't work. So on December 23 I get my computer back, I wouldn't sign the paper until the guy showed me the PC slot worked. Get home go to load my wireless, NOTHING HAPPENED. So I figured let me uninstall everything and reinstall, perhaps that would work. Oh yeah, disc drive got stuck and wouldn't read the disc. So on xmas eve I was speaking to a manager at Best Buy (8am mind you with no shower and no make up....For those who know me...I always leave the house clean and with full makeup on..This should tell you how LIVID I was). So I explained my problem to the manager (calmly according to my mother) and wouldn't ya know it he looked on his little computer deemed my computer a lemon and I am getting a new computer for free! Merry Christmas to me!

Okay, tired yet!

HAHAHA
Leave me some good comments about y'alls Christmas~

Grey Street

Okay, I don't want to bring anyone down for the holiday but I have some very bad news. I am not even sure if I want to share it. It may shock and amaze people and well, frankly, it bums me out. So, okay....(deep breath).....I discovered tonight....I have a gray hair...................OH GOD....it's horrible....I am too young.....what will I do......damn Gough genes. My mother had the nerve to laugh for heaven's sake. Laugh at my plight....laugh at my discovery that I am old....OLD....26 people....thats almost 30. Oh the horrors. I need to make an emergency call to Bethany....it needs to be remedied and a good dose of hair dye with highlights is what the doctor prescribed.

Thanks for all those who listened, who let me cry on their shoulder, I didn't mean to bring anyone down....please try and enjoy your holiday....I will struggle through.

Wow, so much to say...

Hmm, in no particular (chronological) order. I saw Maggie last weekend. Cindy and I drove to Delaware for her dinner birthday. We went to a Moraccan restaurant where they served seven courses. It was absolutely fantastic. Food was great and so was the company. There were around 16 people and everyone seemed to get along. I actually saw an old acquaintance from college too (Lou). I was finished with the meal by the third course but toughed it out to the end.

So, Jule's boyfriend is out of town for a couple of weeks so I was recruited to help lay tile with her. Needless to say we THOUGHT it was going well but, alas, we did it wrong. Not wrong really, more incorrectly. The floor needed to be 65 degrees...umm how do you take the floor's temperature...to see the aftermath visit jule's site at
www.notwhatiordered.blogspot.com. Plus you'll see a great pic of Oscar (oh the puppy!)

Thanksgiving was great, we celebrated it on Wednesday because Aly was supposed to work. It may be our last Thanksgiving in this house so it was really special.

Been out once this past month to adam's morgan....

Now its finals week so studying I will go. Hopefully we'll get enough snow that schools will be closed and i can get more done. Whoo hoo!

It's 2am.....okay ot really but close

Its 1am and I am tired but haven't been able to sleep. I need to sleep. I realize this but alas it evades me. Why does this happen? I go for days, sleep deprived and tired and the one night I can catch up on sleep I lay awake? Does this happen to anyone else? I've tried counting sheep, drinking tea, candles with "relaxing" scents.......Blech! Hmm, I gues I'll stare at the ceiling.

Typical Situation

So, what news?

1-Megan's hamster Gus escaped. Yes, Gus made it out of her cage to find haven under Alyson's bed. We have no idea, really, how long she'd been there. Luckily she was alive and a bit ornery if I do say so.

2-I am getting my car fixed, FOR FREE. Why you ask? Hmm because its a piece of shit. So, it has this insanely awful "idle vibration." It's had this "idle vibration" since I bought it but Ford said it was normal and couldn't be fixed. SO for 4 years I have been putting up with this "idle vibration" and finally my dad's mechanic found the solution. Ford has a technical bulletin out regarding the ZX2 which states that the "idle vibration" is a problem and should be fixed. So, dad and I took the car to the Ford dealership, spoke to the service manager and showed him the bulletin with all the pertinent info. highlighted. Needless to say, Wednesday my car will be going into the shop, I will be receiving a loaner car, and it will all be done for FREE! Yippie!

3-Cindy and I spent the afternoon together, studying and what not. We then decided to see Pride and Predjudice but had to wait 2 hours for the next showing. Needless to say we spent a good portion of the hours at Off 5th.

An' Another Thing

So, it's 10pm, I'm exhausted. Today was fall parade/Halloween at school today. The children were absolutely adorable but hyped on candy. Good lord, I couldnt get a word in edgewise with some of them. I had one little girl dressed as Rainbow Brite. She asked Gina to guess who she was. Gina appropriately guessed "Rainbow Brite" and Jocelynn had the nerve to tell Gina to guess again so she could say no. Lord, what a mess!

Then there was class. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND DIAGNOSTIC AUDIOLOGY. I DONT CARE ABOUT DIAGNOSTIC AUDIOLOGY. I DO NOT WANT TO BE AN AUDIOLOGIST. Ugh.

Crash

Oh bother. It's growing nearer to the end of the semester and I feel as though I have not accomplished anything. I have a major case of Senioritis (I capitalized it cuz I believe its a real disease). I want school to be finished, I want to sleep without thinking about what is due that week, I want to experience dinner at a decent hour. I know, I keep complaining. Deal!

Thanks for listening, feel free to leave words of encouragement!
Ciao all!

What Would You Say

So, home...another weekend down. Oooh bad Jenny, bad Cindy. Saturday night, Cindy and I hit up Nottingham's for some dinner and Love Seed Mama Jump. Needless to say we were two girls sitting next to a table of middle (or older) aged men. They sent over a round of shots and subsequently about five more rounds. To make matters worse, two of them left therefore leaving...thats right two. So these two gentlemen decided they should sit with us and share a table....this is now three shots into the evening (and...2 glasses of wine for Cindy, 3 beers for Jen). Yeah, the one guy totally lied and said he wasn't married but hello, saw the ring jackass. So, anyway...had a good time until Cindy didn't feel well. We waited 15-20 minutes for our waitress (at this point Cindy was ill) and we left. Yup, just left. Stupid waitress. Had a great night until my head hit the pillow and the room began spinning. Ewwww.

Sunday was left to recuperate. Enjoyed the TV and a burger at Cornerstone and Grey's Anatomy and hit the sack!

Monday left me with a flat tire on my way to class. Mad thanks and love to Dani who was on her way home from clinic to Bowie. Girl totally stopped to help me change the tire. Girl power prevailed and the donut was put on. Two hours and $300 at Walmart and I got some new tires. Chatted on the phone for a bit with Steve, then Cindy, then Julie, the Diane. (umm, hello) Now it is time for bed.

Drink a hope for happy years~DMB

Two Step

So, Megan, Lindsey, and I went to Nottingham's last night for a couple of drinks. For those who dont know, Nottingham's is a bar in Columbia. Good luck finding it though, its in some random office park! Anyway, had a great time. Great band called Courdory played covers from the 80s and 90s, as well as today (sound like an add for a radio station). Then to top it off we got hit on by the skeeziest guy ever. Eww.
Today I slept, did some work, took my computer to Best Buy (finally). Cute GeekSquad guy. Mmm. Now its time for Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy. God I love Sunday nights.

Celebrate we will

Out of My Hands

So, my computer is yet again broken, hence the no new entries. Twice in two years. Luckily it,s under warranty so I can get it fixed. Still it,s a pain in the rear. Secondly I have the worst cold ever. I loath being sick. I turn into that obnoxious girl who complains to everyone and wants to curl into a tiny ball. Yup, thats me. I have a runny nose, chills, headache, fever, and neck and back pain. I am currently taking theraflu and asprin. I am hoping for death. Somehow that may be better than the way I am feeling righy now. Joy to me!

Dreaming Tree

It's late and I can't sleep. Not really surprising to me. I haven't slept well in a couple of months really. Probably related to stress. Oh well. The other night I was having the most horrible dreams...with vampires and my sisters dying. I know, vampires....but I woke up with the most horrific feeling. Way to vivid, the emotions I was having during the dream. Right now you're saying to yourself, Jen (Jenny, Stolba, whatever name you choose to use) has lost it! At least it wasn't one of my reoccuring dreams. Those freak me out. Again, late night and haven't been sleeping. Oh well. I wish I had a friend who would be up at 12:30 to chat with...but alas why the hell would I wake anyone up to ramble to them about vampire dreams? See, rambling now and its a computer! I need a good sleep remedy. Any suggestions people? Perhaps an herbal tea or meditation. Actually do meditate but doesnt really help me sleep. So tea then? Hmmm....perhaps I'll ponder this while staring at the ceiling.

Here stood my dreaming tree"

Louisiana Bayou

So much has happened since I last wrote. School has started (both at Chapel Forge and UDC). I am already inundated with things to do. I am cutting and pasting my way to happiness and I am reading all about the auditory systems. I am trying to adjust to a new schedule. I have classes on Monday and Tuesday and I now have a client at the University on Wednesdays. Aren't I so excited to be driving into the city three days a week?
So, update on Megan. Taco Bell Corporate called to let us know that they are looking into the situation. They said they would trim the bushes around the area and add lighting and start investigating safety at other Taco Bell's. We aren't holding our breath.
So, Illiah and Cindy have this idea. They want to create an art exhibit featuring strippers. Cindy is looking at this project from an anthropological perspective and plans to have people discussing the different views on adult entertainment. I have been recruited to do PR. Umm, okay, I'll try.
Just a sidebar...What the hell was Bush thinking. What gross incompetence. I am saddened and angered by what happened. Ugh. We can impeach for sexual indiscretion, can we impeach for stupidity?

More later!

So Damn Lucky

Hello again.........long time, no blog. So, things have been extremely hectic. As you know I have been transferred to Chapel Forge. I've been there for two weeks now and must say I am loving the setting. Everyone has been extremely gracious and very kind. And..I HAVE MY OWN OFFICE!!!!!!!! Yup, I have an office. How fantastic for me. The carpet is bright red, the kids' table is bright blue, and my office chair is hunter green but I don't care. It's mine, all mine.

So, I turned 26. I am now closer to 30. :( But I had the best time of my life. First, Saturday morning around 12am, Caroline, DJ, John, Megan, Justin, and Erin sang to me. Drunk mind you. Then Saturday morning I woke up and renewed my license. (For those of you who have read my Blog before you know that this task was well overdue since I have been asked for other ID.) Then I drove to Cindy's where she took me to Georgetown's Tara salon for an hour massage, manicure, and pedicure. Decadence people, decadence!!!!!!!!!! We made it back to her house with enough time for a nap and then I got ready to have dinner with the gang. "Who is the gang?" you ask. I shall tell you in no particular order:
MEGAN-sister and therapist (hell she lives with me, duh)
ALYSON-sister and fashion guru (she always looks hot and tells me the same)
CINDY-best friend and over-all pick-me-up
LINDSEY-friend and my lesbian girlfriend if we were lesbians
CHARLES-friend and old roommate (he had to put up with a hell of a lot)
KAREN-Charles' fiance and new favorite person (I don't think we Stolba's have met anyone nicer)
BARLEY-friend, Megan's old roommate and overall great guy
CAROLINE-friend, Megan's other half and sweetness

So the gang treated me to Giovanni's Trattu in Dupont. Food was amazing, topped only by the company. Barley sprang for some Champagne and the staff served Tiramisu and sang Happy Birthday! Then we headed home to drink, play asshole, and shoulders. Sunday was spent with Maggie (part of the gang if she lived in the area-old college roommate and my outlet for all things). Perfect ending for a perfect weekend!

Before these Crowded Streets

So, my sister was held at gunpoint last night. Yes, gun point. She was on her way home from a friend's house late last evening and stopped at the Taco Bell in Laurel. She placed her order at the speaker and a man approached her open window and held a gun to her head and asked for all her money. She is "fine." (Whatever that means). The police and a detective were here to question her ( I was asleep through all of this mind you). It is a scary world and a fucked up place to live. I don't want to dwell on what could have happened but think about what did happen (that she is okay and alive). Thanks for all of you who called me or Megan and gave her your good thoughts and prayers.

Trouble

So, definitely didn't wake up to my alarm this morning. This could be a problem! I have a feeling I won't be able to sleep tonight because I've psyched myself out. Oh well, what to do, what to do?

I am planning on enjoying my last night of summer at Cornerstone. I need a couple of drinks and a couple of friends to get me through the nervousness.

More after my first day....................

Ants Marching

So, summer is officially over. I start working again on Monday. For those of you who don't know, I have been trasferred to another school. I will be working at Chapel Forge in Bowie. I am sad to be leaving such a great environment but will have to make do! Actually, I dropped off some boxes there and met the secretary and Principal, both of whom seemed very nice so I don't have too many worries. I am curious if I will have a desk and am curious how the building and speech program is run. Hmm?? Now I have to figure out what to wear for the first day. Dilemma. HELP!
It's now 12:45am and I have to get some sleep and practice waking to an alarm. Can it be done folks?

Gravedigger

Tonight I have to go to Pennsylvania for my Aunt Julie's funeral. She was 94 years old and led a full, rich life but it is still sad to think that she won't be around. I hate funerals. I hate everything about them. I hate having to wear black, I hate praying in front of the casket, I hate the way the person looks like a wax figure from Madame Toussad's. I hate not having the right words, I hate having to say hi to people I don't know, I hate it all. I'm just really sad I guess.

Could you make it shallow
So that I can feel the rain

So Much to Say

Well, well, well....did ya miss me? I know you did. It's been a long while since I've commented on the events of my life. Oh but now...

First, for those of you who know or don't, my grandmother was in the hospital for a couple of days and transferred to a rehab center. She had surgery on her right shoulder to repair some damage. She went through rehab and is now home! Home a lot sooner than expected. My aunt Julie has also been ill. She is 94 years old. She is rallying but we are all waiting for the worst. She has led a full, rich life and has nothing to regret. Also, my cousin Todd just got married. My grandmother couldnt be there because of her rehab but they sent two dozen roses to her since roses were their flowers that was how she could be there with them. Isnt that sweet?

Onto chaos at the house. We had yet another shindig. Megan celebrated her 22 birthday over the past weekend and we did it up in style. We had two kegs, jungle juice, and jello shots. It was all gone! Lots of people were here, but nothing broke this time. Oh and Ryan Luce, and Elliot Stone, and a whole rack of ERHS people showed up. Ummm, devistation though. Jesse, Elliot's brother, is engaged to Rachael McClaren. So sad, I had the hugest crush on him in high school. Oh.......sad!

Now, onto this week. VACATION. Went to OCMD. Home of white trash (has anyone else noticed this trend). Had a great time. This was the first year Megan could join us at the bars so we went to Seacrets. There we met up with our cousin Gwen. Okay, LOVE LOVE LOVE Seacrets. Love Seed Mama Jump was the live band and we had a great time.
Sidebar: My cousin was telling us that her and her friends went to Fager's Island where she witnessed some guy beat the crap out of another guy ( kicking him in the head to the point of blood out the ears). So, she was completely sober and had to ID the guy for the PD. While giving a statement to the police the accused friends were taking pictures of her with their camera phones so she's a bit weird. Her husband,a former op and current prison guard, was just thrilled that she is wrapped up in all this stuff.
Anyway, Aly and Megan and Aly's friends and I all went to the Greene Turtle on Monday night. Had a great time. Aly and Meggy left on Tuesday and Cindy and Lindsey came down. Again, went to Seacrets. Had a great time (another great band). Needless to say Cindy got hit on by this hottie with a body. He was 22 from NJ so she gave him her number. When we left the bar and got back to our condo he called 6 times!! Desperate much! Anyway, we ended our vacay at the race track (lost it all) and had some great crabs at Higgins!

Now I am home and thinking I should do laundry.

Stolba Out!

Dancing Nancies

So, Tuesday started out innocently enough. Cindy, Lindsey, and I went to see March of the Penguins at the American Film Institute. Excellent nature doc. for those who are into that stuff. We then decided that we were hungry so we hopped the Metro to Dupont. (SIDEBAR: In Miami, Cindy and I became obsessed with carpaccio) We were looking for a restaurant, Giovanni's, that serves carpaccio but noticed the Melting Pot. There we indulged in decadence and 2 bottles of wine. Of course, after the 2 bottles we realized we were just around the corner from Camelot. So, off we went to the strip club! We were so treated like queens. Right to VIP, great seats and the girls were amazing to us. They loved that we gave them props without being rude. So, our 5:30pm matinee turned to a 2:00am roll-in! WTF is wrong with my and my friends?!!

Don't Drink the Water

Okay, could my week have gotten any worse? Oh, but yes. I am house sitting for a friend with 5 dogs. That's not the bad part. No, when I got here last night her basement was flooded. Yes, flooded. How? It;s rained heavily for the past couple of days and evidently her son left a ball in the drain by the basement door. So last night Cindy, Derek (Nina's cousin), and I shop-vac'd til 1:30 or so. Then I worked on my project until around 3:00. I had clients today at11:00 and kept going until 2ish. I called Cindy to meet me for lunch (hello, Chipotle!). It was raining like I don't know what. I stepped on the curb and my flip flop fell off and went down the gutter. Yes, I am serious. Luckily we were right by a mall so,barefoot, I made my way to Payless to buy new shoes. Then I got to go see another client and then I had class until 8:00. Please let this crazy week be over!

Busted Stuff

So, I was getting ready for bed around 11ish tonight when I heard this really loud bang. For those who dont know I live in a cul-du-sac so I naturally thought someone hit a car that parks along the curves. I looked out the bedroom window to see a car in front of my driveway, headlights pointing toward the house. Then I noticed the flames under the car. Oh yes, flames. FLAMES. So, I ran downstairs to see if anyone was in the car, the guy jumped out and said he called 911. I called right after since the flames began to shoot out from the top and I heard a loud POP. So, the fire department came and put it out. HELLO FIREMEN! Hot boys. Seriously, Megan and I were thinking we should have called them when we lit the grill on fire. So now there is a charred car (which smells like burnt rubber) in front of the driveway so I don't know if I can get my car out tomorrow. I love when my parents go away, we always get great stories.

WEEKEND REVIEW...Picture Style

So....our trip begins. Cindy and I have a habit of taking pictures on our way to our destination and then never taking pics when we are actually there. So here is me...very close up!

And here would be lovely Cindy....check out our matching Chanel sunglasses...hot, right?
And here would be the beautiful sunset on the way home!
Here is Megan and Barley...Big Ass Drafts
And here is Cindy and me after a few shots with Megan, Lindsey, Barley and some ex-Terps basketball guy!

Drive In Drive Out

So, Cindy and I decided to take a road trip to OC on Saturday. We were both jonesing for the beach. Did we not pick the most perfect day. Sunny, 86, beautimous! Took us 4.5 hours to get there but we got hit on by some 12-year-olds so, hey, all great right? Grabbed a slice of pizza at the Dough Roller then hit the sand. Sat behind the cutest lifeguard with the hottest tattoo. Yum! Water was excellent, 70 and waves. We didn't see waves in Miami so this was a treat. Granted, in OC you cant see your feet like you can in Miami. Oh well, to each his own right!
After the beach we threw on some clothes and hit Hoopers for some all-you-can eat crabs, shrimp, corn, chicken, etc. SO GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!!!!!!!! Decent waiter, hit on us too....we must of just looked so hot with sand in our hair and no make up on. I guess I shouldn't complain, if we looked hot looking like ass then how hot we must be when we put some effort into it!?!!
Today is lazy day, lounging, laundry, then....Big Ass Drafts, what a surprise...Sunday and I am going to Cornerstone!

Proudest Monkey

Since I love them so much, my little monkey and my little bro get the place of honor. Here are Aly and Ian showin' some love. Excellent!

Typical Situations

The Weekend in Review...a Photo Journal!

Okay, so we may have had people at the house this weekend. It started out simple enough...a BBQ, some beer. That is until I set my dad's grill on fire and we needed to put it out with the fire extinguisher. Whoops. Great time had by all i think.

Here are Megan and Kristen....that would be Chris in the back with the arms...whatever.

Kristen and Megan again, looking as hot as can be. Holla at yo girls!

Now you got the best looking ladies there ...Me, Cindy and Lindsey. I have had a few, Cindy more than a few, and Lindsey....well...

And here she is, Ms. Nasty. Alyson, Megan, Lindsey, Brad, Ian, and I all hit up Cornerstone....for what else, Big Ass drafts. Aly is seen here showing displeasure for our shitty waitress and her crappy luck at quarters.

Trippin' Billies

So...road trip. Thursday. Barley, Megan, Sam, Danny and I all hoped in Sam's Excursion and headed to VA Beach for the Dave Matthew's Concert. We left around 10am thinking we would have time to hit the beach before the concert venue. We thought the normal 4 hour ride would get us there in plenty of time to lay like broccoli. Needless to say, 6 hours later we were lucky if we made it to the venue. Car ride was fun....belted out tunes from the early 90's and made fun of everyone. Once at the venue, bought a bottle of rum and some coke, a few cups and ice and set up shop in the parking lot. Concert was great, especially with the mellow vibe goin' on. Love Dave, absolutely love him!

On a more serious note...my grandma (Mammam) had surgery today. For those of you who don't know, she hasnt been doing to well. Some of you remember she broke her leg about a year and a half ago then broke it again so she hasnt been too mobile. Now she had surgery on her shoulders....she's become the bionic woman. Hopefully all will turn out well. Say a prayer okay?

Stuff

So, today is Thursday and Megan and I, and a couple of friends, are heading to VA Beach to the Dave Matthews concert. Megan's two "friends" are idiots. We invited them to the concert like two weeks ago and everything was copacetic. Yesterday she calls to give them a time to meet. They are in NJ so now we had to scrounge and find people to take the tickets at like 9:00 am today. Stupid girls.

On to a more somber note. There was a police officer shot and killed in Laurel. I knew him. His son was a student in my school. He was always dressed in uniform and was very pleasant. Its so sad to see someone die, but for it to be in such a violent and useless fashion...shame.

Manic Mondays

So, here it is....Monday again. Still hate the supervisor. She is so daft. I sent her a calendar, indicating which days I was available and which days I have class. I have class M,W,F, from 5:30 on. She scheduled meetings and clients on Monday and Friday from 5:30-6:30...umm, yeah....see I got class. DUH.
Weekend was good, went to Adam's Morgan on Saturday with Cindy. Met up with Steve, Christie, Stephanie, and Steve's friend Matt at Adam's Mill. College bar with good music from the 80's and 90's. Has lead me to download the oldies but goodies....now in the music library one can find the pretenders, the cure, the clash, and rob base. Hmmm, gotta love reminiscing. Got any suggestions for some more good music??

UPDATE

so, here it is. Friday morning at 11:30 and I'm not doing shit! I love it. I have class tonight but I dont have to be anywhere until then so I am going to enjoy myself. This week has been so hectic. I was supposed to have a paper due today (postponed til Monday now) and I was running around to libraries to do the research. Then I had my dreaded externship. Jesus, this woman is such a damn flake. She sent me a schedule on Monday for the week. She had me scheduled on Tuesday and Thursday. Clients were scheduled like so....A, B, C. Easy right. NO, Tuesday she calls at 1:30 (i'm to meet the client at 2) to tell me she's running late so it wont be until 3 and that we aren't seeing client A but client C. WHAT?? Then on Thursday she did the same thing. She switched clients B and A. Which meant I had to drive from Laurel, to Silver Spring, back to Laurel, and then to Wheaton....WTF?? I may have to discuss this lack of organization and time management with her when I see her Monday.
On a lighter note....Jule answered my previous question correctly. Julie receives a dinner to discuss this so called "friend"
More later.....

Hmmmmmm

Okay, so I am going to be cryptic. What is with people from your past just calling you up randomly to chat? Has that ever happened to anyone else? I know, trust me, that I am not the best communicator but with very close friends I do try and make and effort to call someone at least once a week or more...I said I try. However, this friend has a habit of falling off the face of the Earth and then calling at the most awkward times. Hadn't talked to them since February. Hmmm.....why is that? Anyone want to hazard a guess as to who it was or what they wanted?? Anyone??
Secondly...what is with this stupid girl in my class? She has a pole stuck so far up her ass I think the jaws of life would be needed to remove it. She is such a pain. It all started last semester...She is from Long Island and thinks somehow being from NY makes her God's gift. She was rude last semester and now this semester she hasnt spoken a word to me or to Dani. WTF....POLE UP THE ASS.
Lastly...what is with all my professors? Jeez...hard asses the past two semesters and now their all like "Hiiii!" "How are you??!!!" Ack....leave me alone.

I hate....

Okay. I, like everyone else, hate Mondays. But I am beginning to hate Tuesdays more. Why you ask? Because Tuesdays mean I have to go with my crazy clinic supervisor. I am beginning to dread these days because the woman is a damn flake. Ahh...I don't want to go.

WTF

Okay, so the weekend is over. What a great weekend it was though. Again, I slept all day Saturday. Is there something wrong with me that I sleep all day?? Do I care?! Nope. I love it....sleep, read a book, lay in my pjs. Whoo hoo! Then at 11pm, Megan calls and off I go to Cornerstone. Cornerstone has become my regular hang out. I seem to be there every weekend. It's so much fun though. Besides it was to celebrate Barley's birthday , how could I resist?
We were going to go to the zoo on Sunday but it was so freakin' hot. Cindy, Michael, and I went to Alexandria instead. Michael's friend Cory owns a restaurant (Le Goulois) and we opted for a free meal in air conditioning instead. Smart aren't we?! Then we went to another air conditioned venue...the movie theater. Saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith, awesome! Cindy and I then decided to go to Adam's Morgan for a drink. It took like an hour to find a parking spot but we did and then went to Meze. Cute little bar/lounge. Course we were the only two girls in there so these four guys decided it was there duty to talk to us. Hmm, great. Nope, slurring idiots. They asked the same questions. "SO, you from around here?" "So, whats there to do on a Sunday night?" "What was your name again?" Stupid idiots. The one guy kept mentioning my damn shirt....it had sequins. He seemed to like those. I am sure that the fact that the sequins went along the chest area had nothing to do with it. Well two guys left, which meant Cindy and I were stuck with Tweedle-Dumb and Tweedle-Dumber. They were so wasted that I ended up having to pay for the last round of drinks. WTF? Then they didn't know how they were going to get back to their hotel so I had to freakin drive them to their hotel while all Cindy and I heard was "So, look, why don't you stay." "You can have our rooms and we'll sleep by the pool." Umm, no thanks. Dropped the losers off and home to our beds we went.

The End

I am sitting here in an empty office. Today is the last day of school and all my boxes and rugs are packed up. Am I sad? Uh, no. It's summer!!!!! Kinda.
I am so glad that the school year is over but, oh yes, I have class. WTF, who has classes during the summer? Who has classes on M, W, F nights from 5-9 during the summer? What a drag. Oh well, at least the classes are in the evening so my days are free (and my late nights if ya know what I mean!). I want to lay by a pool and get really tan. That is my goal for the summer. Okay, so who has a pool?? Julie????

Weekend Update with....

Okay, so this weekend. I had a great time. I spent ALL day Saturday sleeping. Have you ever done that? All day, sound asleep. Bliss people, bliss. Sunday was great. I went to see Shakespeare in the Park. It's held at the Carter Baron Amphitheater in Rock Creek Park every summer for free. This play was A Midsummer Night's Dream. The actors were incredible and I have never seen Shakespeare so laugh-out-loud funny. Then....With about a half-hour left of the play (about an act or so) all the electricity in the amphitheater went out. Shows over folks. WE MISSED THE CLIMAX OF THE WHOLE SHOW. What a freakin' drag. Still I think we may buy season tickets. Weekend wasn't over though, no, we decided to go out to Cornerstone in College Park to meet Megan and Barley. Not a wise move with work and class the next day! Oh well!

So Very Busy

It's been so long since I last wrote a thought. Why? Busy, so very busy. I am currently taking two classes, working part time, and participating in a new clinical setting where I get to drive around looking for patients' homes for the better part of my days.
Clinic-going well. I think the supervisor is a bit flaky though. I didn't realize how obsessed I was with schedules and getting information in a timely manner until this clinic. For instance, Friday. I call her at 9:00am with my fax number. I was expecting a fax of patient info as well as a schedule for the week coming up. Oh yeah, I leave work at 3:30 right. At 2:00 I call her because I had yet to receive the fax. 3:00 arrives and finally a fax. See the flaky piece...oh yeah...no schedule attached to the fax. Which means I now have to rely on a phone call to tell me when and where to be. And there in lies the rub, see her phone calls are worse. Thursday...she wants me to meet her at a house in laurel at 2:30pm. She calls me with an address at 2:00!! And says to me, "Are you on the road yet?" Where the hell was i going to drive to with no address???
Fuchs--almost over. Three days left with students then its summer, of course i have two classes and clinic but classes are in the evening and hopefully clinic will only be two/two 1/2 days so i may get to enjoy the sun and have some fun.
Thats all for now, more later, I promise!

Three Day Weekend

May 27, 2005
How glad am I that the weekend is here. I feel like absolute crap and just want to crawl into bed and never get up. Work today sucked. I love the students but I think the idea of summer is setting in and I just don't want to be there. Plus, I had class this evening. Who has class on a Friday night? Oh yeah, I do. At least the professor lets us leave early, I was home before dark.
I start my externship this week. I am so freaking nervous. It'll be good though. It's with a private practitioner in Silver Spring. Hey, its only for eight weeks right. Three more semesters left ya'll! Well its time to go to bed. I know, its a Friday night and I am crashing! Oh well, I am beat. Night all!

Day-by-Day

May 26, 2005
I took the day off today. I so needed it since yesterday was the day from hell. I have been in my graduate program for two years now as many of you know and yesterday was the culmination of everything I have learned thus far. I had the dreaded EXIT INTERVIEW. Oh my god, the professors give you a case study that you have to write about for 1.5 hours then defend orally for another hour. The subject of the case can be anything you learned from your classes. I had the most involved patient out of everyone-I mean that! I did well though amidst the feelings of fainting and throwing up. I passed and can now move on to do my externship.
Oh yes, the externship---more on that later.
Now i am just sitting at home in my Pj's, pretending that I have nothing to do today...Bliss!
