Okay, I now realize why I continue to endeavor in my chosen profession and have subjected myself to 50,000+ in debt.

For the last two weeks I have been teaching a unit on the Very Hungry Caterpillar and my students seem to enjoy it even if they don't participate. I've adapted the lesson to include the caterpillar puppet, play food, and a fantastic butterfly. I've named the caterpillar puppet Mimi and ask the students to help her eat by saying "Eat up Mimi." One student in one of the Austism classes really enjoys seeing Mimi. I did the lesson today, in fact, for my last observation with the prinicipal and it went very well. Later today, in my office, the paraprofessional came to my room with said student and told me this:
She and E. were walking down the hall past a teacher's classroom mural. This mural had caterpillars so she asked E. what they were. He told her they were "caterpillers" and she then asked him what caterpillars turn into. His response....."FLYING MIMIS!!!

I ask you can life get any sweeter!!
